What is Unleashed Acting?

The Unleashed Acting Technique (“UAT”) is a unique imaginative transformational approach to acting.  An actor’s job is to bring fantasy to life,  so the actor must be credible as a fictional character or as him/herself in a fictional circumstance.  In this class you learn to ground your acting in the life of the character.  You create this life using your imagination. If you create it properly, your brain will believe it, and your performance will sing with truth.  Using the UAT, you create a rich body of  experiences to draw from when creating the character and his/her life.  You will have available to you creative choices that far exceed your personal life experiences.  Your expressivity will exceed that which you commonly and instinctively use.  Your ability to create and express will be limited by only your imagination.

Builds Credibility & Believability

You create an imagined self embodied in a fictional circumstance, and  a bridge between your authentic self and the imagined self.

An actor’s job is to bring fantasy to life. You create this life using your imagination. If you create it properly, your brain believes it, you experience it and so will the audience.

An actor must be credible as a fictional character or as him/herself in a fictional situation.  UAT teaches you  how to build that credibility.

Based in Science
Physical and Experiential
Simulates Real World

Contemporary neuroscience teaches us that the brain does not distinguish between imagined events and real events if imagined events fully realized.

Physical experimentation, breath work, and Unleashed BioDynamics are used to stimulate the imagination and lock-in the created experiences.

You work as if you are on set, which means NO PRIOR REHEARSAL before class.  Class helps you fine tune your choices, much like a director does on set.
